Junior Hawks LCIAA Champions!

The Junior Red Hawks finished off the Perth Blue Devils Tuesday night with an
impressive 40 - 23 win. The Hawks captured the LCIAA Championship.

The Red Hawks completed the Lanark County season with only 1 loss and 13 wins.

Vince Dufort was his usual self leading his team from the point guard position. He controlled the Smiths Falls offence making great decisions all game long and despite being shadowed all game, exposing the Perth defence with precision passing.

Brendan Judd made the Perth team pay with highlight plays all game long. Judd hurt the Blue Devils from outside with key 3-point shots and drives to the basket. He finished with an incredible 19 points.

Brandon Wilkinson and Sean McEwen dominated the boards at both ends of the floor imposing their will on the Blue Devils. They combined for 13 strong points. At one point in the game McEwen had blood streaming from his nose on the court. He came off for a quick sub and went back in minutes later. It was a symbolic moment reflecting the effort of the team.

Simo Krsmanovic and Nahum Saunders came off the becnh at key points in the game to contribute in fine form with solid play and a combined 7 points.

Good Luck to the Red Hawks who travel to Kingston Thursday to compete in the EOSSAA tournament. The team is seeded second and has set a realistic goal of making it to the Championship game.
